I remember the exact moment my Mother called to tell me she had been diagnosed with colon cancer. My world froze and for the entire next year we didn't know from one day to the next what would happen. 

That year was life changing for me and it forced me to prioritize and focus on my own family, my values and now it has become a huge part of my life to let others know how important it is to get these stories documented.

That phone call came 9 years ago and I am thrilled to say my mother will be celebrating her 83rd birthday this fall!  I have been blessed with a second chance to ask her all the questions I could possibly think of, to gather all her life stories that we treasure and the photos to coincide.  Not everyone is this fortunate or realize the importance until they are faced with a similar situation.

I am thankful to have been introduced to ProStoryKeepers and the Treasury of Heritage and it has since become a large part of my life and a new career that I love!
